​ Jae-Yeon Won possesses a uniquely captivating sound that sets him apart as a truly exceptional musician of his generation. Recognizing his artistry, Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote, "His ethereal sound strikes Herkulessaal," highlighting the depth and sensitivity of his musical expression. His career began to take shape after his success at the 61st Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition.

 

Dang Thai Son and Kevin Kenner, who greatly praised Jae-Yeon Won’s performance, became his musical mentors along with his affiliation with Maria João Pires. Jae-Yeon Won’s artistic foundation lies in his sensibility and intelligence. He embarked on a series of international recitals, performing in renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Herkulessaal, Beethoven-Haus, Alte Aula Heidelberg, Wiener Saal in Salzburg, Salle Cortot, Salle Gaveau, Opéra Comique in Paris, Palacio de la Ópera in A Coruña, Auditorio de Ferrol, Teatro Ricardo Castro in Durango, Seoul Arts Center, and Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, among others.

His performances have led to appearances and re-invitations with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orquestra Sinfonica de Galicia, Das Haydn-Orchestra, Westsächsischen symphonieorchester, Bari Province Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Musikhochschule orchester, Quartetto di Cremona and,Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Arvo Volmer, Enrique Garcia Asensio, Darrell Ang and Ulrich Windfuhr.

Starting in 2024, with support and sponsorship from South Korea's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ARKO Ensemble in Europe and Network is established, with Jae-Yeon Won as the Artistic Director. This group will bring together young Korean classical musicians in Europe to perform at major venues. The program aims to showcase and discover emerging Korean talent on the international stage.

 In November 2024, the ensemble successfully held its inaugural concerts at Wiener Saal in Salzburg and at the Korean Cultural Center in Vienna, receiving critical acclaim and achieving huge success.

He has studied at Korean National University of Arts with Choong Mo Kang, Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Pavel Gililov and at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne with Claudio Martinez Mehner. While studying with world’s finest teacher, he won many prestigious competitions in the world. Including Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, Long-Thibaud International music competition, Ferrol international piano competition, Karl-Robert-Kreiten Prize and Dong-A music competition.

 

Jae-Yeon Won made his first debut album “Bach to Bartok” on Acousence label in 2020 sponsored by Shigeru Kawai, and he will release an new album on the Onyx label in 2025 and will release three albums with Onyx by 2027.

He divides his time in Austria and South Korea.
